Clara Biotech, Inc, a Kansas City based biotechnology company developing its ExoRelease™ immunocapture and release platform to isolate and purify exosomes, today announced a newly appointed board director and members of its Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board comprises business leaders with extensive experience in leadership and strategic advisory roles for biotech and early-stage companies with expertise in lab tools, diagnostics, and therapeutics.

A recent publication in Nature Scientific Reports entitled Development of surface engineered antigenic exosomes as vaccines for respiratory syncytial virus detailed an investigation into a potential vaccine platform against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) that used Clara Biotech’s ExoRelease™ purification system to capture and isolate exosomes which were then surface engineered and harvested.

Although it is only a few micro-Liters from clinical sampling, Dr. Staecker and his team can still identify exosomes and are developing new diagnostic tests for patients with hearing loss disease.

BioTools Innovator, a new program focused on accelerating life science tools and diagnostics, announced Clara Biotech as the Best Video award winner of the first BioTools Innovator program final competition. The winning company was determined by a live audience vote on October 14 at the BioTools Innovator Capstone Event in Carlsbad, Calif.

Clara Biotech also took home a $10,000 Finalist Award. BioTools Innovator received over 160 applications in this year's cycle. 23 companies were invited to pitch during the BioTools Innovator Road Tour, with 10 companies ultimately receiving a slot in the 2021 Cohort. Clara Biotech was recognized as a finalist selected from this year's BioTools Innovator Accelerator program.
